Marc Sheinblum, PT, DPT

Marc Sheinblum, PT graduated from Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts with his Bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine in 2008. He then went on to receive his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy in 2011 from Stony Brook University.

Through clinical education, Marc has been exposed to a variety of different physical therapy settings including outpatient orthopedics, acute care, and geriatrics, and has dealt with different patient populations including athletes and the elderly. Marc has also assisted in the development of Occupational Health program, which is designed to rehabilitate workers involved in manual labor occupations and help determine when employees can safely and effectively return to work.

Dr. Sheinblum has participated in a 10 week internship at Harvard University with the Strength and Conditioning program. The roles of this internship included designing and implementing exercise programs for a variety of varsity sports including football, baseball, lacrosse, track and field, basketball, crew, and fencing. Marc uses this knowledge to design and execute specific and extensive rehabilitation programs for athletes as well as the general population with orthopedic and neurological injuries and disorders.

Marc prides himself on using effective manual therapy techniques to provide quality care specific to each individual patient. He plans on continuing his education and receiving his CFMT (Certified Functional Manual Therapist) certification through the IPA (Institute of Physical Arts).

Marc has currently taken the following continuing education courses:

  • Cervical Thoracic Integration (CTI) through IMTS
  • Manual and Manipulative Therapy of the Spine and Pelvis (MTSP) through IMTS

Al Sagnella, PT

Al Sagnella, PT

Al Sagnella, MAPT graduated from Toro College with a masters/bachelor’s of science degree in 1991. Early in his PT career he worked at Brookhaven/ Peconic Bay Hospital. Over the years Mr. Sagnella has practiced physical therapy in ortho, neuro- re-hab, outpatient orthopedic and home health care setting.

As owner of Mid-Island Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine, (2000-2007), he was able to practice in his main area of interest (manual physical therapy).

Mr. Sagnella is currently studying to become COMT in Maitland.

Kathleen Lichtenberger, PT, DPT

Kathleen “Katie” Lichtenberger, PT, DPT studied Physical Therapy at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. She received her Bachelors degree in Clinical Health Sciences with a minor in Exercise Science in 2011, and her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy in 2013. Katie completed research in several areas including patellofemoral pain and throwing injuries in young athletes.

Before graduating, Katie completed four clinical affiliations including twelve weeks at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center where she worked primarily on the Surgical ICU with patients with severe surgical complications and comorbidities. She also spent time on the Burn Unit, Neurologic Rehab Unit, and the Orthopedic Unit.

Professionally, Katie primarily has experience in outpatient orthopedics. She has treated professional baseball athletes as well as high school-aged athletes from several different sports. Katie has also educated several athletes on injury prevention on and off the field.

Katie incorporates a wide variety of manual techniques into her treatments in order for her patients to receive the best possible outcome. She looks forward to using all of her clinical and professional experience to treat and rehabilitate the diverse population of patients here on Long Island.
