Michael J. Fracchia is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing in Port Jefferson & Riverhead. He completed Medical School at Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1984, Internship at North Shore University Hospital in 1985, and his Orthopaedic Surgical Residency at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City in 1989.

He provides complete, comprehensive, and state-of-the-art orthopaedic care, including Total Joint replacements, Sports Medicine, and Fracture Care for all ages. He believes that although there is a place for surgery, many patients can be treated non-operatively with casting or bracing, physical therapy, medications either orally or injected, or even just time. Dr. Fracchia merged with Dr. Legouri in 1998, and together they founded Long Island Bone and Joint. He has been its President since inception. Dr. Fracchia preformed a LIVE telecast of a Total Knee Replacement done through a small, quad sparing incision with the aid of Computer Navigation that was televised from St. Charles Hospital to the “MIS meets CAOS” meeting in Arizona. He is considered one of the world leaders in the technique of ‘navigated soft tissue ligament balancing’ during knee replacement surgery, and co-authored the operative technique for the Minimally Invasive Navigated Columbus Total Knee Arthroplasty. He has presented this technique and taught thousands of surgeons in 17 states, Europe, and South America.  His instructional video for surgeon training has taught countless others. 

Dr. Fracchia designed and wrote much of Mather Hospital’s Total Joint seminar, as well as Pre-op, Intra-op, and Post-op protocols. This seminar is run bimonthly throughout Suffolk County, and has helped thousands of people understand the complexities of arthritis and their treatment options.


STATE-OF-THE-ART: He uses Computer Navigation for Arthroscopically Aided Anterior Circulate Ligament Reconstructions.  Some patients are candidates for the DAA (Direct Anterior Approach) for Total Hip Replacement, which DR. Fracchia uses and teaches.  Most knee & shoulder surgery is performed arthroscopically, and can be done with minimal incisions, faster rehabilitation and earlier return to sports & work.

After graduating Medical school in 1972, Dr. Richard Legouri completed his internship at The New York Medical College, Flower/Fifth Avenue Hospital. He continued his Orthopaedic Surgical training at New York Medical College’s Metropolitan Hospital Center, and joined Drs. Consoli and Colombo in their practice of Orthopaedic Surgery in Port Jefferson in 1978.

Dr. Legouri maintains ones of the busiest practices of orthopaedics in Suffolk County. He has privileges at J.T. Mather Memorial Hospital, St. Charles Hospital, and Southampton Hospital. Although expert in many aspects of orthopaedics, his primary areas of interests center around sports injuries, arthritis & joint replacements, and fracture management.

In 1998, Dr. Legouri merged his practice with Dr. Fracchia, and co-founded Long Island Bone and Joint. Later that year, Dr. McGinley joined the practice; and in 1999, PJSA merged with Dr. Skilbred in Southampton and Dr. Brennan joined the Southampton site.

Dr. Brian McGinley received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. Dr. McGinley completed an internship and a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at ST. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital Center in NYC. Dr. McGinley continued his training with a Fellowship at the Insall Scott Kelly Orthopaedic Institute in NYC. During this time he received additional experience in Sports Medicine, assisting the New York Knicks team physician, as well as Total Joint Replacement with one of the founders of Total Knee Replacements, John Insall, M.D.

After completing fellowship training in New York City, Dr. McGinley joined Long Island Bone and Joint in 1998 and has enjoyed the many opportunities in this community. Dr. McGinley has been practicing in the Port Jefferson area for over nineteen years. He has an active practice involving care for many of the high school and college athletes in the area.

As a member of a development team for computer assisted surgery, Dr. McGinley has traveled around the United States, as well as Europe and Africa, lecturing and meeting with engineers.  Dr. McGinley received a Patent after developing a piece of equipment involved in Knee replacement surgery.

He has also been asked to lecture for the Arthritis Foundation on Total Joint Replacements. In addition, he was appointed PGA Physician for the U.S. Open at Bethpage 2002.

Dr. McGinley is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Medical Society of the State of New York, The Suffolk County Medical Society.  Dr. McGinley is past president of the Medical Staff and past member of the Medical Board at St. Charles Hospital and Rehabilitation Center.

Richard M. Savino, M.D. is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon who returned home to Long Island to join Long Island Bone and Joint. He was on the faculty at Johns Hopkins University Hospital where his responsibilities included being a team physician for the Baltimore Orioles and the Johns Hopkins University athletic department. In addition he has served as a physician for the U.S. Open at Bethpage and at Shinnecock Hills.

His personal perspective on Orthopedics began in middle school with a radial head fracture and continued in High School with an ACL tear. Dr Savino received his undergraduate degree at Boston College where he majored in Biology and Theology and was the recipient of a student athletic trainer scholarship. He received his medical degree from The State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse and residency at Temple University Hospital, and trained in pediatric orthopedics at Shriner’s Hospital for Children. While a resident he won the prestigious Resident Bowl from the Philadelphia Orthopedic Society in 2000.

Dr. Savino completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at Johns Hopkins University hospital where his experience ranged from pediatric patient care to total joint arthroplasties. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, as well as the New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons the Suffolk County Medical Society and the Medical Society of the State of New York.

He has been a member of the John T Mather Memorial Hospital Board of Directors and has served as President of the Medical Staff and Chairman of the Medical Board at John T Mather Hospital. He is currently the Vice-Chairman of the department of Orthopedics and is a member of the Physician Leadership Committee. He has been named “Man of the Year” by Blanca’s House for his recent medical mission to Nicaragua. Dr Savino has been awarded an International Faculty position with Maxx Medical Corporation and has lectured and trained surgeons in countries as distant as India. He also was appointed to a Bioterrorism task force to ensure Long Island physicians are prepared for the next disaster.

In April 2018 he was appointed Clinical Instructor in the Department of Orthopaedics as a member of the voluntary faculty in the School of Medicine at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Dr. Savino was featured in the Times Beacon Record Newspapers and the John T Mather Community News for specializing in Computer Assisted Surgery, and minimally invasive surgery and joint replacement. Dr. Savino also provides advanced arthroscopic procedures including being one of only a few physicians in the area performing Hip arthroscopic surgery and labral repairs. All of his knee arthroplasties are performed utilizing computer assistance to improve accuracy.

As a member of Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Medical Honors Society, Dr. Hubbell received a Bachelor of Science degree while attending Villanova University. He completed his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine where he continues to serve on the Georgetown Alumni Admission Committee. Following an internship in general surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, he completed his orthopaedic surgical residency training at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in New York City. He conducted research, published and presented papers focusing on trauma and sports related injuries.

Dr. Hubbell has extensive experience in sports related injuries since completing an Orthopedic Sportsmedicine Fellowship at Georgetown’s Nirschl Orthopedic & Sportsmedicine Clinic. He worked closely with and provided orthopaedic care to the Washington Redskins, professional baseball players and student athletes from Georgetown and George Mason Universities as well as many Northern Virginia high schools.   During this fellowship, he had the unique opportunity to work alongside Dr. Nirschl, a leader in the development of treatment for tennis related injuries. There Dr. Hubbell treated players on the USTA circuit and was involved in the surgical treatment of a Wimbledon champion as well as a Super Bowl Quarterback. As a fellow, he published and presented papers on research relating to advancements in arthroscopic rotator cuff treatments and shoulder instability.

Currently, he treats college and high school athletes on the East End as well as provides Orthopaedic care for the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League. Dr. Hubbell was also selected as a PGA Physician for the 2004 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills.  He has served as the medical director of the Bridgehampton Polo Tournament.

His Orthopaedic interests include the advancement in arthroscopic treatment of shoulder, knee and hip injuries.  In addition, he has a particular interest in minimally invasive computer navigated knee replacements.

Henry Marano, M.D. is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon. He was practicing in Jamaica Queens since 1992, where he completed his Orthopaedic residency at the Catholic Medical Centers of Brooklyn and Queens. Since that time he held a full time Faculty position as Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Director of Orthopaedic at St. Joseph’s Hospital, for the St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Centers.

Dr. Marano left his position at the St. Vincent Catholic Medical Centers to join John Hubbell, M.D. in the Southampton Office of Long Island Bone & Joint, to help care for our patients in Eastern Long Island.

Dr. Marano brings with him a comprehensive experience in Orthopaedic Surgery. He will offer care and treatment in the areas of: Trauma, Occupational Medicine, Sports Medicine, Fractures and the management of Traumatic or Degenerative Arthritis.

Dr. John J. While completing his residency, Dr. Yu received specialized training at the University of Maryland R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, one of the nation’s busiest trauma hospitals and is proficient in caring for patients requiring orthopaedic trauma care.

Dr. Yu further pursued advance training in foot & ankle surgery at NYU HJD after his residency under the expert guidance of Drs. Mrozcek, Sheskier, and Chapman. He assisted in the care of several professional and collegiate sports teams including the New York Rangers and various collegiate teams of NYU, gaining experience in treating athletes at all levels of competition.  While at NYU, his training focused on the treatment of sports related foot & ankle injuries, ligament repair/reconstruction, cartilage restoration, arthroscopic and endoscopic procedures of the foot & ankle, as well as ankle replacement surgery.

Dr. Stephen Densen is a highly accomplished board certified Doctor of Podiatric Medicine with extensive experience in diagnosis of foot and ankle disorders. His expertise is treatment of diabetic, pediatric, orthopedic, athletic injuries, geriatric and traumatic foot and ankle injuries.

Dr. Densen is certified in endoscopic treatment for plantar fasciotomy and neuromas.  His philosophy in treating patients is always conservative first and formost, leaving surgery for treatments that don’t respond to conservative treatments.

He graduated from NY College of Podiatric Medicine in 1988. He completed a residency in Podiatric Surgery in Houston, Texas. Upon completion of his residency, he entered private practice with his residency director.

Dr. Rana graduated from Brooklyn College with Magna Cum Laude. He attended medical school at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. Prior to joining Long Island Bone and Joint, Dr. Rana was the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at McDonald Army Health Center. During his tenure as an Army Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Rana provided comprehensive orthopedic care for the soldiers, their family members and the veterans. He received the “Army Commendation Medal” for his dedicated medical care during “Operation Enduring Freedom”. He brings the philosophy of service while caring for his patients.

Dr. June C. Halsey is an orthopaedic surgeon practicing general and pediatric orthopaedics in Southampton and Riverhead.  Her practice focuses on managing adult and pediatric musculoskeletal conditions, orthopaedic trauma and fracture care, sports injuries, and adult reconstructive surgeries.

Dr. Halsey earned her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University with magna cum laude honors. She returned to Georgetown for medical school, graduating in 2011 as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, MA in 2016. During residency, Dr. Halsey completed an intensive orthopaedic trauma program at Brown University’s Rhode Island Hospital.

Dr. Halsey also received a diploma for her advanced training in joint replacements from the world-acclaimed New England Baptist Hospital. Prior to joining Long Island Bone and Joint, she completed fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery at NYU Orthopaedics (NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases) to provide expert care for children and adults alike.

Her pediatric expertise includes the non-operative and operative treatments of pediatric fractures, hip dysplasia, cerebral palsy, limb deformity, club foot, and scoliosis.

Dr. Halsey is accepting new patients and referrals. She provides individualized and patient-centered care to all of her patients.
